I am currently a lecturer/researcher at Tilburg University, in the Tilburg center for Cognition and Communication (TiCC).

I am also finishing up my PhD at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, working automatic image description.
My research focuses on two questions:

  1. How can we characterize human and automatic image description behavior?
  2. How should we close the gap between the two? What are the major obstacles?

My PhD supervisors are Piek Vossen (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) and Desmond Elliott (University of Edinburgh).
